We eat here several times a week! It is our favorite restaurant out of all the country clubs in The Villages. My husband always orders the haddock dinner and loves it. I try something different all the time and have never been disappointed. Their coconut shrimp salad as well as the pineapple boat chicken salad are my favorites. The prime rib on Tuesdays couldn't be any better. Sometimes the wait to be seated can be longer than I like, and service can sometimes be slower as they are always busy. If u make it before 5 o'clock, happy hour makes it worth waiting!

We've had their prime rib and the steamship pork and it's always great. Service is great! Leave room for dessert :-) Eat from the whole menu. Not at once of course. You won't be disappointed. We live in Collier.

Had dinner there last night with my husband and both of us thought it was wonderful! The pork and demi-glaze were excellent. My husband loved his turkey dinner. The menu prices were perfect, Thank you so much for a delightful evening.

The menu is constantly changing, which makes for a surprise with every visit. The kitchen staff make the place a favorite! Service could use some improvement as noted in other reviews. I can imagine that is difficult due to the seasonality of things around here. So, I cut some slack. :-) Kevin Bell Retired In The Villages, FL (Lady Lake)

I can save you some time here! You don't have to study the menu, just order the lobster bisque soup followed by the coconut shrimp appetizer followed by the raspberry sorbet dessert and you will have a great meal----probably the best they have That's why I ordered it again. My wife may not agree since she got the homemade quiche and said it was the best. The Chianti was a great wine and so was my wife's Shiraz----and very reasonably priced. We both had very good service by Anthony. A nice place for a late dinner.

Day before fathers day and it was busy so maybe that has an effect. But food was average at best. Special was steak and cod and ordered steak med rare got well done. And small - less than size of burger. Fish dishes ok but could have have previously frozen. Chicken tempura tenders cooked right and nice portions. Nice atmosphere but bit loud - but it was busy. Not fine dining but ok average casual place reasonable prices.

Good food and nice variety if you're not a vegetarian. Wait for a golf course view table. Attentive service.

Stopped in here last weekend for a dinner with a group. I ordered the fish tacos and Hopin' Joe, my husband had lobster mac and cheese, others had the Monte Cristo, coconut shrimp and meat loaf. I was completely surprised by the authentic quality and spice profile of my entree. Not only were the fish tacos on par with top Mexican restaurants but the side of rice cooked with sausage, onion, peppers and spices added a wonderful element to the meal. Well done Cane Garden Country Club! Others in my party were extolling the virtues of the Monte Cristo sandwich (which they order regularly), coconut shrimp was very good. My husband reported the lobster Mac and cheese to be run of the mill. I would definitely return!

The food is best described as average. I had a fish tacos that was probably created with frozen fish. The sauce was generic. Service though was good.

I debated between three and four stars but giving it four because of the ambience of the place especially outside if the weather is nice and for the efficiency of the staff. Inside could get little noisy but sometimes when people are having fun they do tend to talk loud. Love their thin crust pizza. They are not large but just right for me. Always end up having sausage and mushroom expedition though our guest had lobster pizza and loved it. My wife likes her cane cane shrimp. With a glass of Chianti, I am usually very satisfied.

The food was ok. . . Service sucked. . . I ordered wings as an appetizer and the waitress, tracy, asked me did I said bbq & ranch, I said bbq. Did not make a difference she never brought them anyway. My fries were ice cold. She never checked on us during the meal. Very unfriendly. My recommendation if you come here and Tracy is your waitress. . . Get up and leave

Well, after coming here for over 8 years, I was going to reduce them to 4 stars BUT, as stated previously, they still rate 5 stars in their category. They are NOT A 5 STAR restaurant BUT, for a Villages Country Club restaurant, they deserve 5 stars. Their food is always good and the prices are very acceptable. Their Chef, Louis, does an outstanding job of providing a menu to basically please all people. Their Herbed Whitefish remains one of their best dishes - although I have seen an apparent reduction in the amount of sauce provided. No problem, just ask for more and they will willing oblige you. If you dare, try their chocolate cake dessert and if you do try it, lay off all desserts for another week!!

This is wonderful. October is such a nice month to enjoy outdoor dining. Cane Garden has a large porch that is perfect for either lunch or dinner. The menu is great with a wide variety of entrees. My favorite is the Lobster and Scallop salad. The perfect compliment to a beautiful day. The Chicken and Brie looked good as was the 1/2 Pineapple with cottage cheese. The BBQ ribs smelled superb. The Coconut Shrimp was also fantastic and not overloaded with coconut to cover the fresh shrimp taste after deep frying. The servers were plentiful and anxious to please. We are definitely going back to try dinner. ChefLars rated 4Stars and $$$. Very refreshing.

Food was excellent. The service was OK but the waitress I didn't care for. She had never heard of anyone asking for only 4 or 5 ice cubes in their scotch only. So, she turned it into a joke and made fun of it also as she ordered it from the bartender. Then, the bartender did the same thing and laughed. I guess if he was a real professional bartender he would have realized that certain drinks require certain thing in order to not lose it's flavor. Personally if I were the bartender and was a professional bartender, I would have corrected her.

Went for dinner last night. The wait staff is not attentive enough. Our waitress didn't check on us after our drink order for a long time, and we were both ready for another drink way before she came to ask. Then my meal order wasn't correct. I had to bring it to her attention. She blamed the kitchen for putting the wrong order, but as a waitress, she should double check that everything is indeed correct before bringing to the table. I then had to wait 10 minutes for the correct order, which made my husband wait to eat his until mine was served. The food was good, but you get much better service at lunch time than in the evening. The evening staff need better training, even the hostesses need to be more pleasant when greeting the customers upon their arrival.

What happened to mushrooms of the sea dish? Sometimes a change in the menu is good but don't cut out the dishes that you become known for. Has cane garden come under new ownership, and what will happen to the cty clubs once there sold as is rumored.

Loved this place. Great service, great food and beautiful location. Came here for an early diner and was not disappointed. They have a good size menu with a nice variety. From wraps to burgers and some more sophisticated entrees. My group had a little of everything, all were fresh and very well plated. Delicious, was the word most used to describe their meals. I Will definitely come back.
